SUMMARY:Lunch &amp\; Learn: An Introduction to Passive House
DESCRIPTION:The Passive House Network Presents:\nAn Introduction to Passive
House\n\nPassive House goals and methodology challenge and empower archit
ects and builders to make the architectural design the driver of climate\,
health\, and social solutions addressing indoor air quality\, thermal com
fort\, resilience\, and affordability. PHN Executive Director Ken Levenson
will dive into the fundamental principles\, history\, certification\, cos
ts\, systems\, and applications of Passive House\, including the new front
iers of Passive House design as it continues to redefine industry expectat
ions.\n\n\n\nLearning Objectives:\n1. Describe the goals of Passive House
 performance\, including hygienic ventilation\, thermal comfort\, durabilit
 y\, energy efficiency\, resilience\, and affordability.\n2. Outline the fi
ve fundamental principles of Passive House design and how each contributes
to reaching occupant health\, safety\, and welfare goals.\n3. Describe ho
w Passive House tools and methodology deliver predictable\, high-quality r
esults\, allowing heating &amp\; cooling system sizing to be reduced by 75
% typically.\n4. Understand how Passive House methods have been adapted an
d grown to include practically every building type while addressing all cl
imate zones\, from factories in Sri Lanka to office towers in Boston.\n\n\
n\nPresenter: Ken Levenson\n\nKen practiced architecture for 20 years in N
