CRAN – Custom Residential Architects Network

develops knowledge and information to benefit architects who are engaged in, or who are interested in learning more about, custom residential practice. CRAN® presents information and facilitates the exchange of knowledge and expertise to promote the professional development of its  members via discussion forums, national symposia and conventions, publications, and local activities.

John Stewart, AIA
Director and CRAN Committee Chair

 John Stewart is the Principal at Stewart Associates in San Carlos, and has been a member of the AIA San Mateo County chapter for 40 years. He has served on the board for many years, including positions as Secretary, VP, and President. He has been a board member of CRAN Custom Architects Network a National Knowledge Community of AIA for eleven years. He was chair and vice chair, and put together a symposium in Sonoma.

John has served on committees in San Carlos for rewrites of zoning ordinances and was an alternate on its Design Review Committee. He was a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Commission and is currently a member of the Architectural Advisory Commission in Redwood City.

John has taught at College of San Mateo and Art Institute of California Sunnyvale. He graduated with a BS Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin Madison and MARCH Master of Architecture from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
