Aloft Hotel Cupertino

The project is situated in an urban setting that is a technology icon for innovation and advancement. The .7 acre site was previously a gas station. The new hotel is a highly customized adaptation of the hotel brand’s program requirements to fit within the site constraints, and a very custom, non-prototypical exterior design to embrace the technologically advanced image of the city. The 123 room hotel  consists of a four story building over a one level basement garage and contains a bar, lounge, restaurant, meeting rooms, fitness center, outdoor patio, and outdoor swimming pool in a central courtyard.

The exterior design was intended to be bold and sleek to fit within the surrounding environment and culture of the city. The detailing of the clean lines and integration of granite stone, limestone plaster and glass give the building texture and reflect a high end urban character.

The street facing the east side of the hotel is well traveled by both vehicles and pedestrians. The hotel features an outdoor patio and fountain off of the indoor lounge. The outdoor patio has engaged the pedestrian traffic along the street. Another feature on this side of the building is a sculpture from a local artist that represents the first message sent over the internet.

The interior spaces are open and flow together as their functions are all related to create an energetic social atmosphere for the guests. The interior design is modern yet edgy with its bare concrete floors, LED lights and pops of the colors. The guestrooms have a clean contemporary feel with crisp details and technological enhancements for the tech savvy travelers.
