Irrigation by the Numbers: An approach for net-zero-water landscapes
by John Black, RLA, QWEL, CPLD

Half of California’s urban water is spent outdoors. But it is possible to reduce that significantly and even create landscapes that use no more water than they receive in rainfall. With a proactive and quantitative approach based on plants’ water needs, we can design healthy, beautiful landscapes that honor California’s limited water resources.

John Black is the the award-winning Principal and founder of Verdance Landscape Architecture in Palo Alto, where he creates gorgeous, sustainable, “Califriendly” habitats that celebrate life in the Golden State. A California native himself, John is a licensed Landscape Architect, a 20-year member of ASLA, certified by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), and a QWEL (Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper) Professional.

The Board Election will occur at the beginning of the meeting and followed by the Verdance Landscape Architecture Presentation.
