2025 AIASMC Strategic Plan Update

“To help equip our chapter’s architects to be leaders in advocating for architectural and professional issues of our community.”

This Vision Statement, established in 2023, continues to guide our chapter forward. Early this year, the Board of Directors recognized the need to update our strategic plan to reflect this vision and address the evolving and diverse interests of our profession.

A dedicated Strategic Plan Committee was formed in May, and throughout the summer, committee members conducted a comprehensive review of previous strategic plans, recent initiatives from AIA National, AIA California, and neighboring chapters, while carefully evaluating the priorities and growth trajectory for our chapter over the next five years.

Today, we’re excited to announce that the 2025 AIASMC Strategic Plan has been formally approved by the Board of Directors, built on four key pillars to better serve our members and communities:

  • Engagement
  • Advocacy
  • Education
  • Governance

We view this updated strategic plan as a living document that will continue to evolve alongside our chapter. We remain committed to making ongoing improvements based on your feedback and active participation.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this strategic plan update! Special recognition goes to the 2025 Board of Directors, the Strategic Plan Committee (Margaret Williams, Anne Chen, Iva Monterrubio Langrova, Tyler Moslander, and Kenny Hung), and Jackie Tannier, our Executive Director.
