City of San Francisco and San Francisco County
From our friends at Property Atlas
The Supervisors have been busy this year. In the past month alone there were 10 new pieces of legislation introduced that relate to the built environment.
- Ordinance 250886 would expand uses allowed in Historic buildings citywide and reduce some Conditional Use requirements for projects in those buildings.
- Ordinance 250887 would eliminate violations for parking your car in your front driveway. Hooray! (This is part of the PermitSF initiative)
- Ordinance 250888 will hit developers in the wallet. Because many developers get their projects approved by Planning, but never build them, the Planning department doesn’t get paid for all their hard work. This ordinance would take some of the Planning fees up front instead of at permit issuance.
- Ordinance 250890 would temporarily eliminate the property transfer taxes on certain rent-restricted affordable housing.
- Ordinance 250925 would allow DPW to potentially require contractors doing work in the public-right-of-way to get pollution liability insurance.
- Ordinance 250926 is tied to the Rezoning Plan. When buildings are demolished in tenant occupied buildings, relocation assistance will be required.
