Design Tech High School on the Oracle campus and those who created it will be honored by Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) at a dinner on Thursday, March 29, for its contributions to sustainability. Others are State Senator Jerry Hill, Peninsula Clean Energy, Proterra, Joseph Fullerton of the San Mateo County Community College District and Youth United for Community Action.

Design Tech will receive the Green Building Award, sponsored by SSMC and the American Institute of Architects of San Mateo County,  for its sustainable design targeted to achieve LEED Gold certification. It’s the first high school located on a tech company’s campus, providing new learning and recreational opportunities for students, teachers, Oracle employees and the community. It was designed by DES Architects + Engineers and built by XL Construction.

Tickets are available on SSMC’s website at sustainablesanmateo.org. The deadline for early-bird pricing is February 28.
