PUBLIC POLICY ALERT
The Housing Preservation and Expansion Reform Act
AIASF’s Public Policy + Advocacy Committee has reviewed the legislation proposed by Supervisor Peskin to address real problems with the definition of Demolition and the application of the Building and Planning Codes and opposes it. It goes well beyond this to attempt to redefine issues as far afield as: residential density, unit size, roof decks, garages, and architectural character.
It is critical that we show our opposition for this legislation when heard, in public, at the Planning Commission Hearing on Thursday, June 20 at 10:00AM, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 400.

AIASF’s Public Policy + Advocacy Committee has also reviewed and supports the following legislation:
The legislation proposed by The San Francisco Department of City Planning to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors amendments to Code 136. It expands and clarifies the Planning Code’s definition of “Projecting Elements” and other architecturally defining features to include both horizontal, vertical, and diagonal features (subject to Design Review).
