For the first time, Peninsula Clean Energy is joining SSMC and the American Institute of Architects’ San Mateo County chapter as a sponsor of the Green Building Award. Application forms and criteria for both awards are available on SSMC’s website at https://bit.ly/SSMCnominate.

The Green Building Award is open to any building constructed within the last five years that is located in San Mateo County. Remodels and additions are also eligible to apply for this award. The project must have completed its final inspection by January 19. Previous nominees may apply if their original projects have had additional, substantial green improvements or additional documentation is available. The Green Building Award winner will be selected by an independent panel of recognized professionals in the disciplines of green and sustainable construction.

At the 2023 Awards Celebration, SSMC and the American Institute of Architects’ San Mateo County Chapter presented the 2023 Green Building Award to the Burlingame Community Center in Burlingame. Honorable Mentions were awarded to the Atherton Library in Atherton and Gilead Sciences’ Wellbeing Center in Foster City.

AIA SMC is an official sponsor of the Sustainable San Mateo Green Building Awards.
